Team BLU, I am pleased to announce that our February 15th, 2017 educational moment speaker will be Dr. Damon Silas.

Dr. Damon Silas is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and is also a Consulting Hypnotist through the National Guild of Hypnotists. He received his BS from Howard University, located in Washington, DC, in 1997; and obtained his Doctoral degree from The George Washington University, also in Washington, DC, in 2002.

He has extensive and diverse experience, ranging from working with children and adolescents on the autistic spectrum and those with emotional disturbances, to working with the military population. Damon specializes in loss, grief, trauma and PTSD.

Damon is an avid dancer and enjoys learning and teaching others the joy of movement. He was a part of the Culture Shock DC professional dance organization from 2002 until 2016, and remains active on their Board of Directors. He continues to dance via his Cize Hip-Hop dance certification, and also offers Dancing Mindfulness classes to the community at-large. Damon is also an advocate for Alzheimer’s research.
